Setup and speech packs
Why does speech recognition need a download?
A speech pack contains the model OgreScribe uses for transcription. Choose a pack in the app; it downloads from the current model host and is used on your device. Available language packs and their download sizes are shown in the app and can change.
Can I use OgreScribe without a connection?
Once a speech pack is installed, transcription runs on the device. Internet access is still needed for a new pack download, store purchases and any network service you choose through a link or sync destination.
Which phones or tablets are supported?
The app is built for iPhone, iPad and Android phones and tablets. Check the relevant store listing for the current operating-system requirements.
Recording and reports
My transcript has mistakes. What should I do?
Open the report, edit the line and review its timestamp or source audio when available. Names, numbers and speech in noisy places can be misheard. Always check the report before sharing it.
What happens if recording is interrupted?
Keep OgreScribe in the foreground while recording. A call, another app or device power policy can interrupt capture. Return to the app and check for a recovered recording or draft before trying again.
How do I add a photo or marker?
Use the recording screen’s photo and marker controls while you walk. Review the report afterward to make sure each attachment and note is where you expect it.
Export, backup and sync
How do I export a report?
Open a report, choose its export or share control, select a format offered by the app and review the preview before sharing or printing. Current paid options are shown in the app before purchase.
How do I move my work to another device?
Create a backup from the app’s settings, save it to a place you control, then use the restore flow on the other device. A backup contains the records you choose to keep with OgreScribe; it is not a plain document to open in another app.
How does the sync folder work?
OgreScribe writes report files into a folder that you select. A separate cloud or file-sync app may copy those files to other devices. Folder access and provider support vary by platform. The files are not encrypted by OgreScribe, so use a private folder and read the privacy policy.
Purchases
Where can I see price, renewal and current purchase options?
Review the app’s purchase screen and the store confirmation before you buy. The store shows your localized price, billing period and any offer for your account and region.
How can I restore or cancel a purchase?
Use the restore control in OgreScribe for earlier purchases. Manage or cancel a subscription from the Apple App Store or Google Play account that made the purchase. Removing the app does not cancel an active subscription.
